FAQ

What are acrylic sheets?

PMMA (Polymethyl Methacrylate) acrylic sheets are transparent thermoplastic materials known for their durability, clarity, and versatility. They are often used as a lightweight and shatter-resistant alternative to glass. PMMA sheets are utilized in a wide range of applications, including signage, displays, windows, protective barriers, and various DIY projects. They offer excellent optical properties, UV resistance, and can be easily cut, drilled, and shaped, making them a popular choice in both commercial and hobby settings.

Can you glue acrylic?

Yes, there are a few ways that you can attached one piece of acrylic to another. The best option are below:

     1. An acrylic solvent - specifically designed for bonding acrylic materials. These work by softening the surface of the acrylic, allowing two pieces to fuse together when pressure is applied. Solvents creates a strong and transparent bond that blends seamlessly with the acrylic, making it ideal for joining laser cut pieces.

It is important to note that this type of adhesive should be used with caution, as the solvent fumes can be harmful if not used in a well-ventilated area

 2. 3M Double Sided Tape - high strength, clear adhesive that comes in sheets that can easily be applied to acrylic before cutting. This adhesive bonds instantly and is known to resist high temperatures and harsh environments.
